These little beauties are solid-timber drink coasters made by me right here in Perth, WA.
I’ve made them by rendering zero-emission anti-fade inks into locally sourced acacia birch. The coasters are then triple-coated with a matt sealant to make them tough and ready for whatever life throws at them.
The beauty of acacia birch is that its a hardwood with lovely swirling grain pattern that comes through to form part of the image without overpowering it. Each coaster has its own rugged and warm feel.
You can also use these to make mosaic pieces to display and they look sweet on their own as mini display pieces.
